Jingbo Huo (Judy) was born in Beijing, China. She graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Beijing) at 1985.

She was then a teacher at the Central Academy of Drama (Beijing) for ten years.

In 1995, Judy moved to New Zealand, and started to teach Chinese painting at The Chinese School of Auckland University.

She moved to Wellington in 1997 and taught painting at her home studio in Northland.

For the next seven years she worked as an art tutor, teaching Chinese painting and calligraphy with the New Zealand Oriental Art Society.

Judy currently teaches at her home studio in Wadestown.
